Japanese Airline Company Accepts Bitcoin

Japan-based low-cost airline Peach, is becoming the first japanese airline to accept Bitcoin as payment, as they announced that Bitcoin can be used for bookings starting the end of the year, they added that the change in Japan’s law on fund settlements in April helped facilitate the move.

The company also aims to increase tie-ups with local governments and regional companies to help spread usage of the digital currency, it said.

Peach was formed in February 2011 as A&F Aviation, a joint venture between All Nippon Airways (ANA) and the First Eastern Investment Group, a Hong Kong-based private equity and venture capital firm.

“With the Bitcoin payment, we would like to appeal to customers from abroad,” said Peach in a release.
